Common questions

What slip rating do I need outdoors?
External areas are where slip resistance matters most. P ratings (wet pendulum) and R ratings (oil-wet ramp) are separate test methods and aren't interchangeable; higher numbers mean more grip. Where the manufacturer has published ratings we show them on the product page — a rating that isn't shown hasn't been verified for that tile. Pool surrounds and ramps always deserve a conversation about the specific application before specifying; ask us and we'll check the documentation with you.
Are pool mosaics different from ordinary mosaics?
Pool-suitable mosaics — like the Onix Aqualuxe programme we stock — are made for permanent immersion and pool chemistry. If a mosaic isn't sold as pool-rated, don't put it underwater; we'll always tell you which is which.
Can an outdoor shower really live by the coast?
The Zen outdoor range is solid 316L marine-grade stainless steel — the grade specified for coastal air and pool-side use. It's the one we'd put on a Gold Coast deck.
